Web Design
We'll work with your existing graphic design team or supply creative designs. We're big on aesthetics, attention to detail, AJAX, and animated effects that make websites more intuitive and fun to interact with.
We recognise that first impressions, site design, and aesthetics play a very important role in brand loyalty and conversion rates. In coming up with successful designs we employ common sense and some less known techniques (such as applied kinesiology) to determine subconscious responses to various designs and layouts.
Web Application Development
One of our guiding principles in web software development is ease of use for end-users.
To come up with a complete solution we sometimes integrate third-party web applications and have developed several cutting edge apps of our own, including an enterprise blog, wiki, shopping cart, user/group management system, and invoicing system. Our newer websites all run on our own Content Management System (CMS) designed from the ground up with features like in-place-editing to make content creation a breeze for end-users.
By using our own CMS we not only provide intuitive editing ability for end-users but we're also able to create highly integrated and custom solutions that are not feasible when using cookie-cutter CMS systems like Drupal and Joomla. Additionally, while all of our web apps are modular they are also tightly integrated with our CMS, which allows us to swiftly put together highly functional websites that share the same login system, control panel, database, and maintenance systems, and that present a consistent user interface. This approach virtual eliminates the learning curve for end users and means that the team collaboration functions gain maximum traction with the end-user team.
All of our web applications share the same core code-base and are developed using a light-weight PHP framework which follows the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern of development. This enables a clean separation between web presentation and business logic, which enables several efficiencies in design and development, and enables all our websites to share a common and evolving code-base. A huge benefit of maintaining a common code-base across all our websites is that all of our clients websites can be upgraded every time we enhance our core code. Naturally the presentation layer, the design, varies dramatically for each project.
Our code base is very well maintained and documented and is developed with a view to our own future productivity. Those well-maintained code assets are what enables us to deliver highly functional websites and apps within very competitive time frames.
